The Esplanade Track is a paved shared path on the outskirts of Wellington, tracing the coastline between Houghton Bay and Owhiro Bay. It’s ideal for cycling, running, or walking and features stunning beaches where you can take a refreshing break. Return via the same path or continue on to Red Rocks. Dogs must be kept on a leash.
Parking: Parking is available at both ends of the trail.
Must Do:
Head to Lyall Bay after the walk for a well-deserved refreshment or head to the beach itself.
