This easy track around the lake provides breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and is a great choice for families and dog walkers (dogs must be kept on a leash). Along the way, you can enjoy spotting a variety of native birds in their natural habitat. This trail is open year-round and offers stunning scenery in every season. Dogs must be on a leash. 

Parking: Parking is available at the Lake Hayes Pavilion on SH6, at the Lake Hayes Recreation Reserve, and Bendemeer Bay, on the Arrowtown-Lake Hayes Rd.  

Must Do:

Go in the winter months to see snow on the mountain tops.
