A favourite trail for hiking, running, and walking even though this track is challenging. Fernhill Loop offers views of Lake Wakatipu, the Remarkables mountain range, as well as Ben Lomond mountain. Along the way you’ll head through lush New Zealand forest. Keep an eye out for native wildlife, including South Island robins and mohua. The best months to explore this track are August through May. Dogs must be kept on a leash. 

Parking: The track starts at Ben Lomond Forest – One Mile powerhouse 

Must Do:

Take a photo along the way taking in the natural beauty and flora and fauna of the area. And, pack your hiking boots.
